Aug 13,  · Flux core is a hollow tubular electrode with much less conductive area (in cross-section) than a solid core of the same diameter. It allows more amps per square inch of actual wire section and thereby more heat the inside of the tube with most of the volume is filled with a non conductive flux.

Its a volt MIG, I run it with Hobart flux core wire, and 'red Company' tips, set at about 80% power, and max. wire speed for flux core wire. While welding, usually inside degree corners or flat, on 1/8th to 3/16th inch common steel stock, with about a 3/8ths or so gap between the tip and the work.

To be honest, I am not a big fan of FCAW method since I mostly work indoors and flux-cored welding process produces a lot of nasty fumes, (It is important to work in a well-ventilated area or even better, in the open air) but because it seems to be an upcoming trend among beginners, since it is a very forgiving and fairly cheap welding method, I did some digging to find the best wire for Flux.

Flux Cored Wire - Actions Speak Louder Than Words 7" () A fastcore/powerviolence madness? It's a shrew noise from Japan. Up-tempo songs to cause heart attack with classic punk riffs, catchy guitar solos and lunatic chorus on vocals. No more information about the band. A flux-cored wire is optimized to obtain performance not possible with a solid wire. For many welding applications like vertical-up welding, flat welding, welding over galvanized, or welding hard-to-weld steels, a flux-cored wire can do it better and faster.

Ain wire can deposit pounds of wire per hour, for a 71 percent increase in productivity or 18 pounds of wire more per day than with a solid wire. The benefits of gas-shielded flux-cored wire over solid wire are further amplified in vertical up applications.
