Somewhat reminiscent of the Italian/cabaret feel of "How Can I Be Sure," "Silly Girl" was not only one of the high points of the Once Upon a Dream album, but one of Eddie Brigati's finer artistic moments. The song is a heartfelt paean to the longing of love and its frustration.

Highlights included the beautiful pop masterpieces Silly Girl, Rainy Day, and My Hawaii. Eddie's brother David also made a contribution to the album, singing lead on the beautiful title track, Once Upon A Dream. At this point, the group dropped the "Young" from their name and were now officially known as The Rascals.

Thom Jurek of Allmusic is spot on - Once Upon a Dream is a masterpiece that belongs in the pantheon of pop rock music. I have the vinyl, which is pretty scratched up and I haven't listened to it for a long time, but I recently got the CD. I'd known this was special from the start. The melodies are exquisite, the production, flawless.4/5(18).
