    Sera Cahoone's vocal style is a nice blend to Brandi Carlyle, Gillian Welch, Sharon Van Etten. This album is a bit more bare-bones than later efforts, more folksy. The acoustic guitar and voice give the record a plaintive feel, the same sad longing quality as Aimee Mann's songs from "Magnolia" or Neko Case's solo stuff/5(16).

    Sera Cahoone is a Seattle based singer-songwriter who got her musical start on the drums at 12 years old. At 21 she left Colorado in favor of Seattle and drummed for indie favorites Carissa's Wierd and later for Band of Horses on their acclaimed release "Everything all the Time." Despite being an accomplished guitar player and songwriter, Sera largely preferred to stay behind the drum kit.

Once a Denver-based drummer (she played for a spell with Band of Horses) and now Seattle-based singer-songwriter, Sera Cahoone’s second album creates a spell that is thorough and at times overwhelming.
